Differences between system types

Hays Technologies always recommends Ip base camera systems, we are a tech company after all.

When it comes to security cameras, there are two types: IP camera systems and analog CCTV camera systems. IP cameras use the internet protocol to transmit video footage over a network, allowing for remote monitoring and easy integration into networks. They also offer higher resolution and better image quality than analog CCTV cameras. Analog CCTV cameras, on the other hand, use a closed-circuit television system to transmit video footage over coaxial cables. They are less expensive than IP cameras and are still widely used in many settings, but they have lower resolution and limited functionality compared to IP cameras.

Overall, the choice between IP camera systems and analog CCTV camera systems depends on your needs and budget. If you want the best image quality and advanced features, an IP camera system may be the way to go. However, if you’re on a tight budget or don’t need high-resolution video, an analog CCTV camera system may be a more practical choice.

When it comes to distance limits, IP-based camera systems vs CCTV,  analogue systems can perform long-distance wire runs of 800+ feet. However, for IP camera systems, existing networks, WIFI connections, and point-to-point connections can be utilized, allowing cameras to be placed in different buildings or locations. This makes IP-based systems more versatile and eliminates the need for long-distance wire runs. In situations where the distance between cameras and the recording device is greater than 328+ feet, analogue systems may be a better choice. But in most cases, IP camera systems offer more flexibility and better performance.
